Updated ebuilds on jokey's overlay[1] as usual, updated kernel modules tarball is on my webspace[2].

On October 29, 2009 Sun released VirtualBox 3.0.8 a new maintenance
release for the 3.0.x branch, ChangeLog here.

As usual i updated the ebuilds on jokey's overlay[1], the updated kernel modules tarball is on my webspace[2].

Another week another (minor) release!

today VirtualBox 3.0.2 was released, it's a maintenance release this means that it will contain only bugfixes[1] and no new features.

Updated ebuilds are available on jokey's overlay as usual[2].

As said in the previous post, on July 30 a new version of VirtualBox was released,
this version, 1.6.4, is intended only as a maintenance release.

Once again the files of the previous version (1.6.2) vanished up from Sun Download
Center (SDLC) especially the PUEL edition only hosted there, upstream said that in the near future this will be fixed and maybe the fetch restrictions avoided.

Again in this last release there is no kernel module sources tarball (vboxdrv),
in addition i spent some time to fix an annoying bug during the OSE compilation,
there are two missing makefiles in the source tree, i found an unofficial patch
that fix this problem[1].

Once again ebuilds are available on jokey's overlay[2], while the convenience kernel module tarball is available on my web space[3], here the Changelog:

app-emulation/virtualbox-bin:
- Added VBoxVRDP wrapper for VBoxHeadless

app-emulation/virtualbox:
- Fixed missing makefiles
- Added VBoxVRDP wrapper for VBoxHeadless
- Avoid compilation with gcc 4.3.1 wrt bug #226495

i will test and bump ebuilds for virtualbox-guest-additions, xf86-input-virtualbox, xf86-video-virtualbox later
